This was our second stay at Camino Real Acapulco and both were very good. The absolute best feature is the de facto private beach- no vendors, nobody but hotel guests, a nice group of rocks for the kids to play on, a dock to swim out to- wonderful!

The service is very good and this time was fast. The hotel was not very busy but when we were there over Easter weekend we had to wait a long time (45 minutes) to check out and 30 minutes for a bellman (semana santa is the busiest time of the year for hotels so not a big surprise).

We came with some friends who really wanted to see the cliff divers, we rented a boat for $120 for 11/2 hours all 8 of us and saw them from the water, much better than driving 45 minutes each way in traffic for a 15 minute show!! We also went water skiing and jetskiing everything is $40 for 30 minutes they will take you fishing too and accept pesos or dollars.

We received a sheet under the door the night before checkout offering a rate of $99 if we wanted to stay another day. Unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of it.

I would suggest going to Walmart or a grocery beforehand and stocking up on beverages they are expensive at the hotel - of course a wonderfully blended margarita is worth it but $4 for a water is not! (This is esp useful if you have kids).
