“Jamaican Charm & Hospitality”

We had been to Couples Swept Away twice and decided to try three nights at Couples Ocho Rios(COR) on our way to CSA this time.
On the drive from MBJ we had a chance to see Couples Sans Souci on the way there when we dropped off some guests. From the time we landed till we arrived at COR was less than 3 hours, including Customs/Immigration/Couple Lounge & drive time.
Once at COR we were impressed with the lush grounds and the stately style of the hotel. We were greeted with champagne, and within 15 minutes we were in our room, unpacking our bags. We found that we had been upgraded to a room in the center of the main building with a view of Tower Island ( where we did not go during our stay ) The bed and bedding were luxurious and we had a huge walk in closet. The bathroom was large and well equipped, and we had plenty of hot water all 3 days. I preferred the bathroom to the ones at CSA.
On our first night, while getting ready for dinner we received a surprise bottle of Champagne - nice touch. We had no problems making dinner or excursion reservations. All of the Staff were kind and some went above and beyond to make our stay even better.
The food was of excellent quality in all of the buffets and restaurants- my favorite was Bayside ( Italian ) and of course the coffee/croissants/fruit/yogurt which was delivered every morning on time. The nightly entertainment was great, including the house band Fusion and especially the Silver Bird Steel Drum band - we have seen all of the shows at CSA and this one really knocked us out.
It was a little windy ( Olga ) and the water was choppy but we were still able to sail and it just made the Cat Cruise more exciting. We swam every day or floated on the mats.
I used the treadmills every day , they worked fine. I was usually the only one in there and you just can't beat that ocean view !!( at CSA the sports center is across the street from the beach and gets crowded)
There is a lot to do at COR, even if it rains. The groundskeeper took the two of us on a tour telling us about all the native plants and showed us Macaws, roosters and other birds in an aviary tucked away among the lush greenery. There are private jacuzzis and lots of places to explore on your own.
We felt very pampered at COR - I had to see the Nurse one day and she was an absolute angel. The Staff there is very professional yet there is still the warmth you'd feel at any Couples resort.
While we love the beach and tropical feel at CSA,
we were very impressed with COR and would definitely go back.
